Description
13 Mukhi Rudraksha
The 13 Mukhi Rudraksha is a very rare seed of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, which grows naturally in Nepal, having thirteen naturally formed faces or grooves on its body. The bead measures around 18 to 26 mm in diameter and has a tough outer shell with a brown appearance. As the formation of thirteen faces in natural beads is quite rare, the seasonal supply of the 13 Mukhi Rudraksha is also relatively scarce.
According to the ancient Hindu scriptures and the Shiva Purana, the 13 Mukhi Rudraksha is considered to be the bead of King Indra, who is also known as the King of the Devas and the Heaven, and Kamadeva, the God of Love and Desire. In addition to that, some Vedic writings also refer to this kind of bead as the Rudraksha bead of all fourteen worlds, and the bead of attaining fulfillment and satisfaction in the material world as well as spiritually.
The 13 Mukhi Rudraksha bead is worn in pendants made out of gold and silver or even kept in specialized multi-mukhi prayer beads. The rarity of this kind of bead also makes it popular among collectors, who prefer keeping it safely in a sacred box.
