10 Mukhi Rudraksha
The 10 Mukhi Rudraksha is an organic Elaeocarpus ganitrus seed that comes from Nepal and has ten natural grooves or faces (mukhis) on its outer surface. The bead has an approximate diameter of 18-24mm and a hard brown outer layer characteristic of beads from Nepal. This variety is relatively common when compared to the rare higher mukhi beads.
According to Hindu mythology and the Shiva Purana, the 10 Mukhi Rudraksha has an association with the preserver lord Vishnu who forms a part of the Holy Trinity in Hindu religion. In Vedic scriptures, the 10 Mukhi Rudraksha is also known to be connected to the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu who are popularly referred to as the Dashavatara. These ten avatars include Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki. The bead is also mentioned in terms of preserving dharma, protection and promoting peaceful life.
The 10 Mukhi Rudraksha can be worn in a silver/gold cap or used as a bead in prayers consisting of 108 beads or kept for daily pujas. This bead may be worn by Vaishnavas or anyone including worship of Lord Vishnu.
